Avocado and Olive Oil Facial

Avocado and Olive Oil Facial

Use this facial at least twice a week to keep your skin super-soft and glowy. Grab a medium bowl and mix 1 tsp mashed avocado with ½ tsp extra-virgin olive oil. Cleanse your face beforehand, then apply the mask on your complexion.

Start massaging the mixture into your pores using circular motions. Leave the treatment on for 5-7 minutes. Finally, you can wipe off the facial with a damp washcloth.

Ingredients:                                                                                    Items Needed:

  1. Liquid Vitamin C                                                         1.  Washcloth or paper towels
  2. 1 tbsp. rice bran                                                            2.  Hair band
  3. 1 lemon cut in wedges                                                 3.  Warm H20
  4. A few drops of organic grapeseed oil

(jojoba oil if you are over 40)

*optional step– add one opened Juice Plus or Vineyard capsule and mix powders with rice

bran.  Your skin absorbs the antioxidant nutrient directly into the skin

Facial Steps:

  1. Pull hair back w/ headband.
  2. Rub liquid Vitamin C onto your face & neck avoiding eye area.  Wait 1-5 min.
  3. Add warm water to rice bran (and Juice Plus capsule powder if using) & make a paste w/ about 2 tbsp. of warm water.

Wait a minute or 2 for it to soften so it will be gentler on your skin.  GENTLY rub

paste into your skin & massage to exfoliate & nourish skin.  Do less rubbing

over areas like cheeks & forehead where skin is naturally thinner.  Wait several

minutes while the nutrients are absorbed.

  1. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.  Press pulp against your skin using a circular motion.  You will feel a tingling sensation.  The tingling is the astringent action tightening your skin & removing wrinkles, so don’t rush this!  Leave lemon juice on for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Place your washcloth in very warm water.  Squeeze most of water out & place it over your face; keep it on until it cools.  Then use damp washcloth to remove lemon pulp & rice bran particles from face.  Rinse the cloth in warm water & wipe again.  Repeat until all particles are off your face.
  3. Finish w/ grapeseed or jojoba oil; put a few drops on the palm of your hand & then spread it gently on your face.  This will not plug up your pores b/c you have already sealed the pores w/ lemon as an astringent.  If necessary, blot off excess oil w/ a clean, dry towel.

Benefits of Vitamin C:

  • Kills bacteria on skin & breaks up greasy, waxy deposits
  • Enhances collagen production & repair when used topically
  • It is an antioxidant
  • Decreases fine wrinkles & age spots
  • May provide UV protection

Benefits of Rice Bran:

  • Has B vitamins, minerals, & fiber
  • The grittiness from the fiber exfoliates dead cells
  • Diminishes blemishes & removes sebum & waste loosened by Vit. C treatment

Benefits of Lemon:

  • Soaks up toxins while bioflavonoids are absorbed; this also strengthens cells
  • Has a bleaching action on age spots & acne
  • Acts as an astringent bringing skin cells closer together (hence, that “tightening” feeling which seals the pores!)
  • Tones & nourishes your skin

Benefits of Grapeseed Oil (or Jojoba oil if you are over 40):

  • Used to moisturize your skin
  • Takes away tight feeling, but preserves taut & silky smooth surface!
